The Genealogical Society Resource Library is located in the lower level of the Warren County Administration Building and contains an extensive collection of genealogical material to include information on vital records (births, marriages, divorces, deaths) cemetery records, family histories and surname files, transcriptions and/or indexes for census records, tax records, property record indexes, will & estate records, obituaries, military records and much more. Scroll down to the bottom of their About Us page for a detailed description of their library holdings.

Meetings are generally held the 3rd Wednesday of most months. See Program Schedule for details.

Warren County Genealogical Society will do research. For additional information, click here. Mail prepaid written requests to the Warren County Genealogical Society. The site includes a Research Request Form that you can download in Adobe Acrobat Format.
 

The Records Center has a storage capacity of over 20,000 cubic feet. The Reading Room offers patrons an opportunity to research county records in hard copy, electronic, and microfilm forms, and is next door to the Genealogical society. The following records are available: births & deaths from 1867-1908; clerk of courts general index 1803-1978; probate court general index 1803-1936; marriage licenses/records 1803- June 28,1996; soldiers discharges 1865-1954; auditor’s tax list & duplicates various years; treasurer’s tax & duplicates various years; apprenticeships from 1824-1867; and other miscellaneous records.
 

All Warren County deed and mortgage records going back to the original land transactions (from 1799) are available for public review at the Warren County Recorder's Office located on the 2nd floor of the Warren County Administration Building. Due to staffing and time restraints, the Recorder's office can no longer respond to written requests to search property records for genealogical purposes. Contact WCGS for this type of research.  Copies are $2 per page. Indexes from 1979 to date can be searched on line at www.co.warren.oh.us/recorder/search

Birth & death records kept from about Dec 1908/ Jan 1909 to the present. As of March 2010, official copies cost $22 each.
 

Probate court keeps records for wills & estates, guardianships, lunacy, adoptions, marriage licenses, name changes and other miscellaneous court records.

Juvenile court maintains records for juvenile court cases such as delinquency, custody, abuse, neglect, unruly and probation.  
 

Hours: M-F 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM except holidays

Common Pleas court keeps records for civil, criminal and domestic relation court cases.

Oversees county jail & prisoners, jury and witnesses at trials.
 

Collects & maintains records for Warren County real estate taxes.
 

Determines cause of death from violent or unknown circumstances.
