This page lists the Quakers resources that the Warren County Genealogical Society has available for use in their library. Researchers are encouraged to come in and look up these records. For those who are unable to come in to do research, we have a research department willing to help you.

Warren County has its share of people belonging to the Quaker faith, and many records exist for those in Warren County.  The website www.quakermeetings.org lists specific information on known Quaker records and their locations.

The Quaker meetings in Warren County have five main divisions as follows:

1.       Springboro (FGC) found at N. Main St. at SR 73 in Springboro, OH 45066 http://www.quakermeetings.org/meeting_view?anID=TST1771L

2.       Springboro (Orthodox) found at E. Market Street in Springboro, OH 45066 http://www.quakermeetings.org/meeting_view?anID=TST1772L

3.       Caesar’s Creek found at Compton Rd., East of New Burlington (VMS 2382) in Waynesville, OH 45068 http://www.quakermeetings.org/meeting_view?anID=TST365L

4.       Miami (FGC) found at 407 W. High in Waynesville, OH 45068 http://www.quakermeetings.org/meeting_view?anID=TST100L

5.       Miami (FUM) found at Maple St. at Clark in Harveysburg, OH 45032 http://www.quakermeetings.org/meeting_view?anID=TST103L

According to the www.quakermeeting.org website, the following is known about the yearly meetings related to Warren County:

1.       Indiana Yearly Meeting http://www.iym.org

2.       Ohio Yearly Meeting  http://www.ohioyearlymeeting.org

3.       Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting http://quaker.org/ovym

4.       Wilmington Yearly Meeting http://www.wilmingtonyearlymeeting.org

WCGS is fortunate to have some published Quakers resources available for use in our library as listed below. For more Quaker records contact the Warren County Historical Society and the Waynesville Museum at Friends Home. The Mary L. Cook Library in Waynesville has a very large collection of Quaker records with some online resources at http://www.mlcook.lib.oh.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=74 .  Original Quaker minutes can be found at Wilmington College.  The Head of the Reference Department at the S. Arthur Watson Library at Wilmington College of Ohio in Wilmington, OH for finding Quaker minutes is Patti Kinsinger.  Her phone number is 937-382-6661 and her email is: patti_kinsinger@wilmington.edu .  There is another individual who is cataloguing these records, but Patti is the first contact.  The Library at Wilmington College holds the extant records for the Wilmington Yearly Meeting for Caesar’s Creek Monthly Meeting, Massie’s Creek, Springboro (Orthodox), Miami Monthly Meeting, and Harveysburg (and subordinates of Harveysburg: Grove, Turtlecreek, Flat Fork and others not of Warren County).    The Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting has also placed the minutes held for Springboro (Hicksite), Harveysburg, and Miami Monthly Meeting.  The Miami Monthly Meeting and some of the Harveysburg subordinates were under both the Wilmington and Ohio Valley Yearly Meetings at various and overlapping time periods.  For Miami, Harveysburg (and subordinates), Springboro Orthodox Monthly Meeting, some records have been microfilmed from the Indiana Historical Society and can be found at www.familysearch.org as microfilm on the Family History Library Catalog. For Springboro Hicksite and Caesar’s Creek Monthly Meetings, microfilms have been copied from Wilmington College.  It is possible that not all records held at Wilmington College have been microfilmed.  Since the Miami Monthly Meeting in Waynesville is still active, they probably have their more recent records.

Our thanks to the Springboro Historical Society for sharing this weblink with us to the 1946 publication by Dusty Miller called "A Good Quaker" (from the archives of James Stanton): http://www.springborohistory.org/AGoodQuaker
