This online index only lists the individual, death date (if known) and reference page. We are creating a master index of everyone who is buried in this county and their burial location to aid researchers. We are especially in need of people buried here who have no stones or whose stones no longer exist. If you have any of this information or if you have additional information for anyone who is buried in this cemetery, please email the Warren County Genealogical Society.

Cemetery History

This small farm cemetery is located on what is known as the Nisbet Farm. Thomas J. Grainger, executor, had the cemetery cleaned up and restored with new markers placed as directed by the Rosemary Nisbet estate. Rosemay Nisbet is also buried here; she died in 2005. Other stones found are all for Harris family members. The 1837 probate of the will for Isaiah Harris [Will Record Vol 7:11] names his heirs as his widow, Martha Harris; children, Mary B. Ann, Martha, Isaiah, Averilla (wife of John Gilbert), Isaac and Amelia (wife of James Hill); and granddaughter, Lucinda Harris, daughter of Wm. Harris, deceased. The 1856 wall map of Warren County shows the cemetery location on a 345 acre parcel of land of an Isaac Harris. 1867 and 1875 maps shows the location on a 153 acre parcel of J. Giddings. A Theodore Sengstack has the property on 1891 and 1903 maps. Finally, E. B. Nisbet is shown as the owner of the 152.28 acre tract in the 1932 Warren County Plat book.
