buried in this county and their burial location to aid researchers. We are
especially in need of people buried here who have no stones or whose stones no
longer exist. If you have any of this information or if you have additional information for anyone who is buried in

Cemetery History |
About 1825, a lot about 1 1/4 acre in size that was purchased from David Fox for the erection of a church and the establishment of a cemetery. The church, built in 1826, was originally established as a non-denominational church owned by the Christian Church and is today used by The United Church of Christ. The cemetery reportedly had been used as a burial ground as early as 1799 and is the final resting place for at least one Revolutionary War Soldier, James Piper. War of 1812 veterans include: Nathaniel Murphy, James Perrine, Richard (Elder) Simonton and Bernard Verbryck. The cemetery is now a 2.986 acres site plus another 2 acre parcel immediately west of the original cemetery, both owned by the Union Township Trustees. |
