This online index only lists the individual, death date (if
known) and reference page. We are creating a master index of everyone who is
buried in this county and their burial location to aid researchers. We are
especially in need of people buried here who have no stones or whose stones no
longer exist. If you have any of this information or if you have additional information for anyone who is buried in
this cemetery,
please
email the Warren County Genealogical Society.

Cemetery History |
This cemetery is located on the property of Farley Baker at 4134 Stubbs Mills Rd, Morrow. Dana Palmer & Vicki Bergerhouse visited this cemetery in October 2009 and talked with his daughter Mindy, and Loron Baker who's ancestors first bought the land. It is currently overgrown with a brush called Myrtle. Apparently when someone died they would plant Myrtle to help honor and remember them and promote the after life. From time to time the owners have clean it up. We identified 20 definite graves with only one identifiable headstone and footstone. Loron told us there is an Indian buried here but he couldn't recall the man's name. He doesn't think the Indian had a tombstone. They said that this burial site was used to bury workers from the mill who were too poor to be buried in the other cemetery and who had no family in the vicinity. The markers are still standing but they are all field stones except for the one for James G. Stewart who died in 1856. Loron has some records of those people who worked at the mill back in the early 1800's dating from about 1820 or so. They don't indicate who died and is buried in the cemetery, but at least it would indicate if an ancestor worked in the mill for a specific time frame. This cemetery is laid out in three rows. There are 8 buried in the first row, 5 in the second row and 7 in the last row. It is very small in size. |
